about sensorymotor art therapy
Sensory motor art therapy was developped by Cornelia Elbrecht and aims to explore inconscious patterns through body informed drawn shapes.
Because each of us carries an innate creative capacity within, a unique language waiting to be heard, I invite you to slow down, close your eyes, and allow spontaneous expression to emerge. Through your sensations, emotions, movements, and bodily awareness, there is a need for self expression.
You do not need any drawing skills; rather, the invitation is to let the gesture arise naturally and to trust the creative intelligence of the body.
Through rhythmic repetition, you are gently encouraged to explore discomfort, inner blocks, and suppressed emotions. Drawing on principles of Somatic Experiencing, this approach supports self-exploration by creating a safe and supportive environment while adapting to your individual pace. It offers opportunities to shift attention, develop greater awareness, and allow new experiences to emerge naturally.

Throughout the sessions, simple drawing shapes provide a supportive framework that encourages the expression of whatever is present in the moment. The drawing process becomes a dialogue between the body, emotions, imagination, and unconscious material. Feelings, images, memories, symbols, or creative impulses may arise without the need to force, analyze, or explain them.
This embodied creative practice can help release tension, restore movement where something feels stuck, and reconnect participants with their inner resources and natural rhythm. Each person is invited to follow their own process and discover what wishes to emerge.
My role is to provide a safe, compassionate, and supportive environment in which these natural processes can unfold. Whether in individual sessions or group workshops, I gently accompany participants while supporting nervous system regulation and honoring each person's pace. Grounded in Polyvagal Theory, Carl Jung's archetypal framework, and a psycho-energetic perspective, this approach offers a pathway toward greater self-awareness, authentic expression, and personal transformation.
Throught creativity, dare to express your deep self and embrace a fundamental human capacity that can support healing, integration, and a deeper connection with oneself.
